Payment initiation services are an alternative to paying online with a credit card or debit card or by credit transfer. Payment Initiation Service APIs are used by developers of payment initiation service providers and financial institutions.

The Payment Initiation Service Provider uses the APIs of the account holding bank to initiate payments from a specific bank account. It starts the payment initiation process flow from within the provider's environment. The customer is then taken to the trusted KBC environment to confirm and sign the payment. The remaining payment flow is then completed within the developer’s environment, ensuring an excellent payment experience for the customer.
